Tara Forrest Greene, LMFT
Tara Forrest Greene is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the owner of Forrest Counseling Services, LLC. She is passionate about helping adults and children heal from relational trauma and move forward into relational health. She has a specialty in helping women recover from domestic abuse and other types of trauma. She also works with children and teenagers who have experienced abuse and trauma or have high anxiety. She holds certifications in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Trauma Play therapy, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling. She holds training certificates in Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). She uses a polyvagal approach to help clients understand their nervous systems and their responses to the stimuli in their lives.
My first goal is to create a safe environment for my clients. I strive to help clients grow in self-compassion and self-understanding. This allows them to approach their trauma and difficulties with safety and confidence. I use evidence-based modalities to help clients heal from trauma. This healing opens them up to new growth and possibilities. And we spend time working toward building the type of life they desire.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, adapting my methods to each client’s individual needs. I also use a collaborative approach, inviting my clients’ input into their needs and desires in therapy. One of the most devastating parts of trauma is the lack of control that is experienced. I want clients to feel empowered and to have agency in their therapy.
