“Supportive, calm, a voice of reason, and a pillar of strength” and able to “meet others where they are” are some of the ways people around Sherry describe her. Coming to the world of therapy with more than twenty years of experience in the field of music and music education gives Sherry both the experience and the fresh perspective that she brings to the therapy room.

Sherry has experience working with a variety of populations including older teens, young adults, families, couples, older adults, and high achievers and performers. Sherry discerns patterns of what is and is not working in clients’ lives and collaborates with clients to build tools and ways of being that are empowering and authentic to each client. Sherry is centered, able to process and synthesize the messiest of stories, and persists, fueled by creative thinking and hope. Lastly, Sherry is marked by the dual principles that all people have inherent worth and dignity just as they are regardless of their abilities or symptoms and that there is meaning, freedom, and even joy in pursuing growth.

Sherry has experience at the Oasis Center and the Refuge Center for Counseling. Sherry received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Western States where she continues to pursue a doctoral degree in Sport and Performance Psychology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Music Education from DePaul University and a Master’s degree in Music Performance from Belmont University. Sherry is a member of the American Counselors Association and the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association.
