Alexandra Dettore, LPC-MHSP (Temp) is a therapist with a focus on working with clients who have experienced trauma. She also holds a master’s in Criminal Justice: Forensic Psychology from Liberty University 2020 and master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University 2024. Alexandra holds a temporary license with the state of Tennessee. She is under the clinical supervision of Stephanie Grissom (License #2189).
She is currently seeking certification as a Trauma Specialist through Arizona Trauma Institute, Somatic Attachment through the Embody Lab and utilizes TF-CBT with her minor clients. She also holds membership with the American Association for Christian Counselors. Alexandra works with clients from a holistic perspective and implements a collective practice of techniques from CBT, TF-CBT, Narrative, Somatic, Solutions- Focused, Collaborative Problem Solving, IFS and Experiential to give clients a range of skills. Alexandra often uses aromatherapy, faith, activities, physical exercise techniques and journaling to help create an integrative and holistic therapeutic experience for clients.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Alexandra spent nearly a decade in the criminal justice world in a variety of first responder roles and working with children who were abused or in foster care. She also worked for a local non-profit as an intensive in-home therapist. Alexandra enjoys working with children 10 years old and up, young adult women, adult women, and first responders. She aims to provide a safe place as an empathetic witness for those facing trauma, adjustment or processing around adoption, acute stress, occupational stress or trauma, grief, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and religious trauma. She also specializes in working with parents of teens facing delinquency issues or mental health diagnosis such as BPD, cPTSD, PTSD or relational issues.
