When it comes to doing individual therapy, I like to approach each person as a unique individual. Meaning, the approach I use for one person may be different from how I approach you. We all understand things differently and find that different types of approaches are more helpful than others - this is why I consider myself to be an eclectic therapist, in that I draw from various approaches to find what works best in meeting your goals.

My specialization is rooted in helping those facing the darkness of depression, the daily struggle of anxiety, the difficulties of major life transitions and the hopelessness of living a life without purpose or meaning. I believe that the best way to help a person meet their future goals is by first helping them live more fully in their present life and situations. I do this through helping an individual tap into their values, what motivates them, what their boundaries look like, as well as how to enforce them, and what leaves an individual feeling most fulfilled. By helping develop this awareness, a clearer path can be seen to begin walking towards a more joy filled life.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. I have been working in the Counseling and Mental Health Field since 2010 in a variety of settings, including a local Intensive Outpatient Program where I lead group therapy for those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitional issues. I have previously worked for six years in an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital providing group therapy. I also have experience providing individual counseling services to men, women and adolescents at Nashville’s Domestic Violence Division. I am a member of the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association (TLPCA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the Tennessee Association for Music Therapists (TAMT).
