Barbara Hill, M.A., NCC
I would love to be a part of your story. Please call me at 443-255-3839 or e-mail at email@example.com to schedule an appointment. I will return your call or email within 24 hours (except on the weekend). My rate is $100 per therapeutic hour (50min), and a limited number of sliding scale options are available to those in need.
My approach to counseling is integrative and relational. I draw from various therapeutic styles to tailor them to the needs of each individual client. I'm trained in models such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Didactical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and EMDR to effectively help each client reach their goals. With my background and education in Biblical counseling I'm also able to address spiritual needs if desired.
"Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light." - Brené Brown
My passion is tied to the privilege of walking alongside others in their most difficult moments to help bring a renewed sense of hope and healing. Research has shown the value in a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe and accepted. I see this as the foundation that my clients and I will build upon to move towards progress and transformation. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, trauma, sexuality, boundaries, spirituality, and life-transitions.
In 2014 I moved from my hometown on the East Coast to Southern California to work with The A21 Campaign, a global anti human trafficking organization, where I discovered and began cultivating my desire to work with trauma survivors. While finishing up my Clinical Counseling degree I worked for Naomi’s House conducting group therapy for survivors of human trafficking. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and currently Post-Masters and pursuing LPC licensure. I hold two masters degrees, one in Biblical Counseling from Luther Rice University, and one in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Moody Theological Seminary. Over the years I've also served as a worship leader and enjoy writing on my blog as well as sharing articles on publications such as Relevant Magazine and Propel Women.
